JustLocal News
Hi, Isn't it a fantastic day. For the month of July JustLocal broke through the 200,000 hits a month barrier reaching 201,071 hits. Thank you. This would not be possible without your support and given JustLocal only covers a very small area of Australia, as our coverage grows so will the hits. A few months ago whilst sitting in a meeting I heard how a not-for-profit organisation found it hard to raise funds, but people were very kind and donated products and services with quite a high value. I then came up with the idea of how to convert in-kind donations to cash and approached Chris who runs the Online Bidz service to assist the not-for-profit group and also raised the same idea as being applicable to charity. The first charity Chris has been able to help is the BacLinks charity based in Geelong. HOT OFF THE PRESS I am very pleased to say congratulations to Chris. Chris currently helps BacLinks and MCEI and has just started to assist Peter Mac Volunteer Services. Well done Chris. (Click here to bid for an item.) I can't help feeling how wonderful a world we live in. Peter Mac recently helped us and now indirectly the world is allowing my ideas to help Peter Mac. If you are interested in donating a product or service please, feel free to contact me and I will pass your details on to the relevant person. All items donated include a credit for the person and their business for their kind donation. Your support and the support of others touches me every day. Thank you for your support and being a JustLocal friend. Passive income. The Holy Grail of income If you are looking for some extra income, passive income, or an additional business opportunity, here is a must check out business opportunity that we have organised for JustLocal friends. Passive income is the Holy Grail for all of us wanting income. This is indeed a rare and generous opportunity. Imagine the following. You have a web page where people can request quotes or place orders for office supplies. Anyone you refer to your page will thank you because the prices and services are as good if not better than they can get elsewhere. Your family, friends, contacts and contacts of contacts place orders using your page. Even people you don't know in your post code area can place orders which will be credited to you. Their order is sent directly to the office supplies business and shipped directly without any further involvement by you. You pass all questions on to the office supplies business. Now most arrangements of this type may give you up to 5% of the first sale and that's it. Others may give you a smaller ongoing percentage. Nearly all require your active involvement. What if I said you get a 50% profit share for the first year for each new customer and 25% in future years for ongoing purchases by customers. You now have a means of generating extra income and the dream of passive income is a reality. We have never heard of any business that is prepared to split the profit 50% on the first sale, let alone for ongoing sales where you aren't directly involved. How is this possible? Over the last few weeks we have assisted a very generous JustLocal friend Raymond Read, to put such a service in place. This is really a remarkable opportunity for you, or someone you know. I would like to welcome the first Read's Office Supplies independent representatives and encourage anyone requiring office supplies to use their service. Visit the JustLocal post code page and click on Raymond's famous dog Inkspot, who is Read's Cartridges and Office Supplies office manager. Ashley Eldridge:
www.JustLocal.com.au/3106 If you are interested in becoming a Read's Office Supplies independent representative, please feel free to contact me and I will forward your details to Raymond. For those who noticed a similar last name, yes, Ashley is my daughter, and she is excited to be able to participate in her first business venture to help pay for those necessities in life. Good on you Ashley for taking action of giving it a go. Ashley already has a number of customers onboard and soon she will receive reward for her efforts. Our second amazing secret In the last newsletter we let some of you into our first secret which now saves us thousands of dollars, which would normally be wasted on ineffective advertising. There is a saying I once heard which is "never let the truth get in the way of a good story". Until now it has been very easy for the gifted sales people in our community to create the perception of successful opportunities and then to sell you on that opportunity. The Internet now provides a couple of tools which enable us to easily see if people are embellishing their stories. Now the tools aren't perfect, but we have found them to be pretty good. They may or may not apply to certain situations, but I have often been asked by others what do I think about a particular opportunity and amazingly, in every case, the tools have provided incredibly useful information. It is just like having a crystal ball to help you make better decisions. Before getting into any business venture we now use these tools to assist us and suggest them to others. If you are on the JustLocal mailing list and write to me, I'm happy to share this second amazing secret with you. Help raise money for the BacLinks charity Thank you everyone for your support with the BacLinks charity auction. One item has already been won and we are close to hitting the $100 mark in money which has been raised. The above items have been donated by Raymond of Read's Cartridges and Office Supplies, Chris from Online Bidz and Sharon from Business Lifestyle Solutions. I would like to thank our JustLocal friends for their donations to help raise funds for the BacLinks charity. The items are being auctioned in a rather unique auction style where all the items are available for 1% or less of their retail value. Imagine the lucky business owner who obtains Sharon's Business Coaching services worth $1,250 for less than $12.50 plus a bidding fee of $2. Imagine the child's joy who receives a cute and cuddly Pawphan worth $24.95, obtained for less than 50 cents plus a $1 bidding fee. Best of all, 86% of all money raised goes direct to the BacLinks charity. So have a bit of fun and know that in doing so, you will be helping others. Click here to find out more. MCEI auction to raise funds for the annual awards. Does winning a dinner for two on the Melbourne Tram Restaurant, or a Yarra Valley Hamper interest you?
MCEI (Marketing Communications Executives International) are raising funds for their annual awards. Using the innovative Online Bidz site there are currently 18 items which can be won for less than 1.5% of their retail value. Now if you would like some hints on how to win these great prizes, feel free to write and ask me. (By the way I haven't won any of the prizes but I do keep trying.) Click here to go to the MCEI auction page. All money raised through these auctions (less Paypal charges) goes direct to the MCEI awards. Chris who runs the Online Bidz service is also a member of MCEI and is donating her time and services for the benefit of MCEI members. Welcome to the following JustLocal friends The following JustLocal friends now have pride of place on the main page of JustLocal. These are businesses that have gone out of their way to offer something extra for JustLocal friends.
Welcome also to the following JustLocal friends.
The first JustLocal Virtual Community
I would like to welcome MCEI as the first JustLocal Virtual Community. JustLocal has been designed to create a stronger local community and it occurred to me the same approach could be used to assist MCEI members and their extended community. The JustLocal/MCEI page makes it very easy for members and their contacts to quickly and easily locate member web sites and their contact details. Please feel free to check out the JustLocal MCEI page www.JustLocal.com.au/mcei. The MCEI members are a great group and through their businesses, offer an extensive range of products and services. Low cost workshops to assist you and your business. A number of JustLocal friends I have contacted are interested in running low cost workshops if you are interested. It is expected workshops will be limited to ten people, be very hands on so you gain real skills, run for around three hours and cost $25. (The workshops would be run at night so as not to impact your work.) So far we have: Face your fears. If public speaking terrifies you, you are not alone. A short workshop to give you real experience in a small group of friendly peers. Create your Unique Selling Proposition. We all have trouble coming up with our USP. The right person asking the right questions can help you come up with your USP, and by working with a group of like minded peers, you will be ready the next time someone asks you, "what do you do?" Put your business on the Internet for less than the cost of an oily rag. Yes it is possible to create an Internet presence for next to nothing if you know how. We do it all the time and so can you. There are many more potential opportunities for low cost workshops, but really it is up to you to put your hand up to let us know you are interested. If there is insufficient interest the workshops will not go ahead. If you are interested in any of the above, or would like to have a workshop on a particular topic, let me know and I will pass your details on to the event organiser. At JustLocal my aim is to find ways to help JustLocal friends and this is best achieved with your open and honest feedback. Once again thank you for your time reading this edition of JustLocal News. Live life with no regrets. Kelvin Eldridge PS. As always please feel free to request that we remove your details from our mailing list. Our aim is to help, not to hinder.
