We are exploring writing some very basic Windows programs using Mingw C / C++ and the Windows Win32 API. We found this very useful tutorial and added comments where we became lost and felt others might have the same problems.

I'm working through "Version 2.0 of theForger's Win32 API Tutorial" under Windows XP and using the Mingw C compiler. In the section "Dialogs, GUI coders best friend" when I try to compile the resource file I get a syntax error on the line - GROUPBOX "About this program...",IDC_STATIC,7,7,225,52. What is the problem?
