We made over a $1,000 selling our excess items.

HOW MUCH WILL YOU MAKE?

Many people use online auction sites to try to sell their excess items. It is said that 30%-50% of items never even get a bid. You end up paying fees for no result and they end up making a great deal of money at your expense.

Why use MyCrap?

Because MyCrap is TOTALLY FREE
No fees. Ever.
Why pay listing fees when you don't have to?

No room in your cupboards?

No room in your garage?

No room for Christmas presents?

It's time to DeCrap!

Best of all DeCrapping is FREE.

Yes, FREE!!!!!
Nada, Zip, Nothing, Zero, Naught

We show you how.

Why DeCrap?

We created MyCrap as part of a training course to show people how to put their information on the Internet for free.

We had tried many ways to sell our excess items in the past. You probably have too.

We gave MyCrap a go to sell our excess items and to our surprise it surpassed every other approach we had tried to sell or give away our excess items and we had a great deal of fun in the process.

We decided we couldn't make money from the approach so we decided to give everyone else the same opportunity we had.

The benefit to us. A small amount of advertising for our JustLocal service. We help you and in return you help us.

MyCrap is no available for FREE to everyone. No fees, no charges ever.

Three ways to use MyCrap

MyCrap is a very simple program which helps you to put together a list of your excess items and produces the list as a web page saved on your computers hard disk.

You can then

  • Print out the page and give it to people you know, or pin it to a notice board at work.

  • Open the page using Microsoft Word and email the page to your family and friends.

  • Upload the page and all the images to your free web space, or free web space such as provided by Yahoo's Geocities, for anyone to see your items to buy them. You can then send a link to your page on the Internet to everyone you know.

The approach you use is entirely up to you.

Overview on How to DeCrap

  • Download and run the MyCrap program which enables you to organise your items using your computer. You can change, add and delete items as it takes your fancy.

The program is a great way to get a list of your excess items together.

The best part is the program is FREE.

NOTE: The MyCrap program contains no spyware or adware. The page produced for the Internet has two links to the JustLocal home page, so others can also find and use MyCrap.

  • Locate free space on the Internet which is generally available from your ISP, or free space which is available from Yahoo Geocities.

  • Upload your list of items to the Internet. (The MyCrap program creates the information in the correct format for the Internet.)

This step is entirely up to you. Just using MyCrap to get your items together for a garage sale is a great way to use MyCrap. Putting the items on the Internet to let your family and friends know what you have, we think is even better.

  • Send an email with a link to your page to all your family and friends inviting them to check out your items. Invite them to let you know about their items.

  • Sell, swap, or give away your items.

  • Sit back and enjoy your new found space, that feeling of an uncluttered house that you once knew.

Detailed steps on How to DeCrap

So let's get started on the DeCrapping path using the following steps.

  1. Click here to download the MyCrap program MyCrap.exe.
(Save the program into a new folder.)

    NOTE:
Windows XP SP2 blocks downloaded executable files to stop them from running. Right click on the MyCrap program, select Properties and then click on Unblock. Now you can run the program. (Even though we have checked the program for infections, we recommend you also scan the program.)

MyCrap also requires Visual Basic 6 runtime. Visual Basic 6 runtime is installed on most computers. If it is not installed in your computer, you can download the files from the Microsoft website using the following link. (Microsoft Visual Basic 6 runtime.)

  2. Run MyCrap.exe.

  3. Enter the settings including the folder where you will keep all your files, including your pictures (by default this is C:\MyCrap).

  4. Take pictures of all your items and store the pictures in C:\MyCrap (or the folder your entered). Your items will look great with pictures, but pictures aren't necessary. (Make sure pictures are saved as jpg, are under 10K in size, and have a maximum width of 160 pixels.)

  5. Then enter your items and select the picture for each item.

  6. Finally view your items using the View option in MyCrap.

  7. Now copy all the files in the C:\MyCrap folder to your free space on the Internet.

  8. Check your page on the Internet to make sure everything is okay for others to see. (Enter your website address and browse your items.)

  9. Send an email with a link to your page to all your family and friends inviting them to check out your items.

Need Help

MyCrap is a free service so we do not provide support. You most likely have a knowledgeable friend who can help you. (MyCrap is a very basic application and most computer users with minimal skills should be able to work out how to use MyCrap.)

You are welcome to send me an email, but please remember my time is limited and I may not be able to reply.

If I can help, I will add the question to the FAQ section so it helps everyone and let you know.

Click here to read the manual (If you right click on the link you can save the manual to your computer.)
