BMR - Basal Metabolic Rate
The amount of energy your body needs at rest. Think of this
as the amount of energy your body needs if all it did was sleep
all day.
BMR less 25%
This is the figure I used as the energy intake per day to lose weight.
My theory was if the body requires the energy as determined by the BMR
to sustain itself, then eating less would result in stored energy
being used. This figure corresponds to the figure suggested by
dieting books.
BMR plus 20%
This figure is an estimate of energy your body needs with normal
activity such as office work. If you eat more than your body requires
some of that extra energy will be stored.

Please be advised I am not skilled or qualified in medicine or the area
of weight loss. I researched the topic and determined an approach which
worked for my wife and myself. I had a check up performed by a medical
professional and would advise others to do the same.
It is my belief young people, pregnant women should seek medical advice
before dieting.
