Loris and Lucy are fictitious characters (in their sixties), but closely resemble the authors, Camille Cain and Raema Hayes. Lucy is the narrator with sister Loris contributing sage advice and comedic input. This is balanced by eminent health and wellbeing experts, such as Professor Ian Frazer (Australian of the Year 2006) providing expert advice.
