As you'll know from reading the introduction, some of the benefits of joining are:
- a FREE web page to promote your book(s)
- low commission on sales at just 10%
- being part of the Umbrella effect of JustLocal’s great Google rating
Remember
also, the JustLocal book project is a cooperative marketing project.
It you don't wish to help promote by at least sending out emails to
your family, friends and contacts when your page goes live, this project
is not for you.

To join, we'll need you to fill in the following form and also supply these files via email to: book@justlocal.com.au:
- Cover image of your book (.jpg, .gif or .png format). The width will need to be 150 pixels. If a cover
image is not available, you may wish to supply a portrait-style
photograph of yourself.
- An extract of part of your book as a PDF file (no more than 300 KB
please). We have notionally said the first chapter, but if you feel
this is too much, then reduce it to the first few pages. It should be
sufficient to give people a feel for your book, but not enough to give
too much away. Please note we also use this material to review your
book for possible inclusion on the JustLocal book page.
- You will also need an image for the JustLocal book page. The
following are the specifications for the image. It needs to be 100 pixels wide by
50 pixels high, less than 1024 bytes and saved in the png format. If you
can't produce a suitable image, you should ask your family and
friends to see if they can assist.
We can produce the PDF or a graphic for authors for a reasonable fee,
but would
prefer authors first try their family and friends to keep their costs
low. Software which can be used to create a PDF or a graphic can be
found on the Free Software Page on JustLocal.

Don't
forget to send along a PDF sample of your work, a .jpg version of your
book cover and an image for the JustLocal book page to: book@justlocal.com.au.
Terms and Conditions (subject to change, but reasonable notifications will occur before they take effect)
- We work on the honour system. We promote books in good faith by creating a web site
and using our extensive referral networks. In return, the author is responsible for organising
electronic payments of commissions on a monthly basis. Details will be provided upon sign up.
- JustLocal and Rising Star Designs & Communication will not willingly promote works of an
unethical nature (as deemed by two fairly liberal people, to wit Kelvin and Renée).
Any questionable material should be reported and appropriate steps will be taken.
- While your initial web page is free, any changes after the initial
approval phase (including adding or removing books from the web page)
will incur a small fee.
- The content of this web site is copyright and thus material cannot
be used without permission by either the author or the web site
copyright holder. Much of the material on these pages has been provided
by authors who retain the specific copyright in their material.
- By participating in this service, you agree that the liability by
Kelvin Eldridge and Renée Barber is limited to the cost you paid
to participate, which of course is zero and thus so is our liability.
We make no guarantee of the fitness for any specific purpose. We don't
guarantee sales. All we can say is that we are here to help and we will
try our utmost to sell your books.
- Breaches in this agreement by the author, or their appointed representative, will result in the
cessation of this agreement.
